Media Rooms A Media Room is any room in the house that has a large TV, universal remote control and surround sound system. This room can be a family room, basement, bedroom, or dedicated theater room. The goal is to create a space that's like (or better than) the movie theater experience - big screen TV and sound effects that come from around the room and put you in the middle of the action. A surround sound system consists of speakers, an A/V receiver and sources: »Surround sound speakers include one or two subwoofers and five to seven speakers placed within the room, three in the front and either two, three, or four in the back and/or side of the room. »An A/V receiver is the central hub of a surround sound system. All of the speakers and components are connected to the A/V receiver. »A source is any device that is used to play audio and video on your system, including a cable/satellite receiver, DVD player, CD player, radio, MP3 player, game console, or media server.
